My local bank has taken a liking to me and have started to give me everyone elses change dumps(into their coin counting machines). I think this will be a good thing for me. So instead of sending the bags of coins off to get rolled, they hand them straight over to me. I went through 4000 quarters yesterday and the only thing I pulled out was a 10 pence (1999). Today I will pick up $1000 bag of dimes from them and $1000 of order halves (unfortunately). Otherwise my only other recent success has been 1 40% off $700 (yellow loomis rolls), 1 40% out of $1.50 from a teller tray, and just Monday I bought $150(yellow loomis rolls) and pulled 6 40% and 1 90%. I tried buying the rest of everything they had, but I do not belong to the bank and that's all they would allow me. Thanks HH

Sweet set up. I got a call from a branch that had a 1000 bag of halves they were shipping out so they offered it to me first. The lady hyped it all up saying it took a long time to fill it. Well when I get there she said it was from another branch of theirs and it was sealed when they got it. Ended up being a dump. I bought 1000 in quarters and dimes and ended up with my first 2 CWR quarters plus 4 Rosie's.

Good luck, I've done bags of nickels and dimes and pennies, not a quarter bag yet. but CWR and loose quarters have been the best, MWR and boxes are SUPER SCARE for silver quarters, take this seriously, I'm the King of Quarters.
Silver Quarter Totals:~225 since I started in September.

At least you got an NIFC 10 pence, with a mintage a little over 130,000. Not worth more than 50 cents.

I went through some halves today, $1890 to be exact at 6 banks. Bank 1)$240 CRW-0, 2)$360 MRW-1 40%, 3)$90 MRW-1 40%, 4)$200 MRW-1 40%, 5)$1000 I ordered 9-40% and 3-64s. So for today I ended up with 13-40% and 3-90%ers. I'm happy with that....oh yeah, I tried another 6)$200 CRW of quarters......0 photo (2).JPG oh well! HH

The good thing about buying bags is that if someone dumps a collection, you'll get most of, if not all, of that collection. The bad thing is that most coin counting machines are not 100% accurate. A few members on this forum have been HORRIBLY shorted buying bags off machines. The risk is higher, but the potential reward is higher too IMO.

If you know the proper weights of clad coinage per pound, you should be able to calculate a rough value of the amount of coins per pound. Bring a scale with you. Worst case scenario, it will be off by a few dollars at the very most.
