$9000 in Halfs

1 - Franklin (1962)
4 - 1964
2 - 1965
6 - 1966
18 - 1967
12 - 1968
3 - 1969

I think this makes sense??
90% = 5 x $10.62 = 53.10
40% = 41 x 4.34 = 177.94
Total = $231.04
Average of 2.5 coins per Box.
$9000 divided by 231.04 = 2.5% return on "investment"

I wonder how my other numbers fair. I will do the legwork.

Nice, but you can't claim a return on your investment until you sell.

I've gottten lazy over the last couple months when it comes to posting my finds... with the price of silver tanking I have been buying silver during the day with the finds that I get from hunting. Half dollars percentages are getting worse so I backed off on the half dollars and replaced them with dimes. Surprisingly the percentage for AG dimes is good. I'm averaging 3-4 dimes per $1,000 sorted. I am consistantly going thru 10K of dimes a week and 5K of the halfs.

Buying silver with the finds you get from hunting? What are you selling to raise cash to buy silver with?

I'm selling the dimes and half dollars I'm finding or trading it for silver - I like Engelhard stuff or ASE's. I even traded silver for gold. I think that answered your question? I didn't really understand it.

It's generally 50 cents each for impaired proofs. However, you may be able to get some more on eBay from people. I would recommend buying a dansco and putting those in, most of what you would be missing now would be the silver proofs.

$4000 is 8 boxes of $500. Works out to 1.75 per box
I use a machine to sort, it sortes 700 dimes per minute. I did the actual sorting in 1 hr. The unrolling a cutting of the rolls took longer than the actual sort.

Ahh ok never seen a $500 box of dimes- but still less than 2 per $500 isnt great avg-
And this machine you have it sorts the silver? Ive only heard of the copper sorters- more info on this machine please- can it do all coins and sort silver?

The Ryedale penny sorter will sort dimes with a #1 wheel @ around 400 coins per minute... approx - It won't do anything larger than nickel. I have a couple of those. They are good machines. My Silver miner is a trade secret though. ;-)

Have you ever notice the machine missing any silver? Im not familiar but does it sort them by weight?

I haven't entered the years or quantity yet... But I figured I would throw this up here. Somebody dumped some old coins at the bank yesterday :-)
Found this in $1000 worth of dimes.
