Im surprised ppl are having such bad luck with dimes. My area is producing well, maybe i should be hitting dimes harder. I have like 3 40%ers in the last 20 or so boxes of halves, and 71 dimes this month of dimes, maybe 20 to 25 boxes

everything you ever wanted to know about old string and son:

its basicly a silver-culling operation, old man String and his boys pack the coins up for (loomis usually), and they take the silver for themselves. They must be going blind, hence the reason why you got any silver.

I've never gotten a skunk. I mainly search halves in volume, but have searched 2.25 boxes of dimes. My first was a Garda box (Strings & Sons wrappers), and got a Merc. Next was a Brinks box, another Merc. My latest dime box was another Garda box, and I'm only a 1/4 through it and already have found a Rosie. Obviously my low volume on dimes isn't enough to give you a comparison. I have searched hundreds of boxes in halves over the past few months so I can talk about volume hunting, just not dimes.

As others have said it doesn't matter what wrappers they use, and each coin carrier's supply are different depending on what geographical region you are in. Garda/Dunbar/Loomis use the wrappers you are talking about, and they can each be great in one area and horrible in another. Same for Brinks (that uses their own wrappers).

I was not posting 'false info', I always get skunked on halves from N.F. Skunks & Sons, and that was an actual account. That thread was MONTHs before 'last time'......A few days after I posted that as I recall I found a Ben, and a JFK, CRW I had no intent to lie then, and I has no intent to be lie'n now. Don't appreciate your tone.

You said it was a silver culling outfit when it is nothing of the kind. I realize you may have been kidding, but the new people on the forum may not know that. A reason not to play with words. These newer folk no nothing so they may not understand sarcasm when they have legitimate questions. No tone was intended, just trying to watch your back to keep you from the same mistakes. If you don't care then fine, I don't either. Been here a long time and watched others seal their own fate. I'll just sit back and snicker from now on.
