Managed to score a $300 bag from a bank while on a little road trip. No silver but did find this stamping error. Not as cool as silver but still neat.

Wow I just looked them up on ebay. I was thinking 4 or 5 bucks but it looks like some people are getting pretty decent money for them. I don't collect errors so if anyone on here does and is interested in it feel free to let me know. I have no need for it and would trade for some silver.

Very nice clipped planchet. The coin itself isn't in horrible condition and the clip itself is very pronounced. The only problem is that the date itself isn't visible. Nice find.

It appears to be an 88 or 89. You can still see the upper loop of the last digit.

Well I took it to my coin dealer and he verified that it was a legit 1988 D clipped planket 4.7% clip. He low balled me on it so I didn't sell it to him so I guess it will be on eBay soon. Would rather trade it for silver if anyone is interested (I hate eBay lol).

Nice error coin. I was curious about what LCS lowball offer was. I don't have a clue what that coin should bring.

He offered me $25 but told me before hand it was a low ball lol. I see them on eBay with similar sized clips for anywhere from $60-$150. But that is eBay and people overpay on there. I would be happy with 5 or so 90% as trade.

Anything less than that I will post it on eBay for $200 and wait for a sucker lmao.

If I had a valuable error coin I would be looking at it the same way. Rather have silver. Which reminds me, I found an error bicentennial clad quarter in the late 70's and saved it. It's got copper showing on one side of the coin. Maybe 15-20% of the surface. I need to dig it out of my stash and throw up a pic.

Hahaha I'm with TimZim, 43 cents. Great find, don't sell it unless you get lots. Only getting 5 bucks or a small silver trade seems like such a waste for such a rare gem. It may not be worth much, but seriously, when's the last time you saw something like that let alone owned one?

They are listed for $60-150, but none have bids for that. I would take the $25, or ask for 3 90s in trade. There just isn't a whole lot of demand for 5% clips.

I agree with baddbluff. The minor clip isn't gong to command the premium. But you only paid 50 cents for it so you can try to get the most you can for it. Good luck.
