looks like one on the banks the banks would give out to make people save some money to bring into them when they got full.

Keep the coin bank! If it was my great grandfather's, it would be worth more than all the coins in it.

Nice bank. How did you open it? Did you have the key or did you use another method? I have a bank similar to yours that I bought at an estate sale that I have been unable to open.

Sounds like you need to make friends with a locksmith to make you a quick key, those guys skills are amazing! Called one once to get into my locked car, he didn't slim-jim the lock at all, he just made another key for it, took him probably 5 minutes.

How did he make another key if the car was locked? Got me puzzled on that one. The only couple times I had to call AAA they slim-jim'ed it.

Well there was a description of the key on Internet biting couldn't replicate it. So I popped the bottom off got the coins and put it back together.

I know nothing about them, but some of those old coin banks can fetch several dollars. It would be worth looking into.
