You don't need a bang ring. Put it in a thick plastic tumbler, cover the opening with your hand and shake vigorously. It'll pop open.

Thanks ABM. I got it loose with a carpenter knife. It was the 1/2 penny variety. I guess I bought a magic trick for .50cents lol

Magician's have to buy them for more than $10. I remember there was one magician who said that he would trade a 40% for each magician's half.

It is called the "scotch and soda" coin trick and is amazing! To buy the gaffed coin along with the normal foreign coin costs nearly $20 online or in a magic shop. So the guy that would trade a 40% for them was coming out way ahead.
