Curious if there are any errors to look for. I realize the coin was a huge failure and there are millions of them sitting in the mint vaults, so no real collector value there.

One of my regular pickups today said they were sent dollar coins instead of my halves. She said she was going to send them back on their next pick up day but wondered if there may be anything to look for in there.

I don't know of anything special to look for, but I believe any sac. golden dollars minted 2002-2008 are NIFC.

2002-2008 are NIFC (My mom found one on the ground once). In addition, there are "no edge lettering" errors on the Pres and NA dollars, plus die cracks and other more minor errors. The SBA 1979-P wide rim is worth a few dollars.

Finally, look for the 2000-P pattern reverse:

Their is a 2000P or D sac dollar with embellished tail feathers. That is the one and only Dol error I look for.

I never knew they were. I have a 1981-D in BU shape that is the best SBA I have seen.

Yes. The mintage figures tell the tale:

1979 P 360,222,000
1979 D 288,015,744
1979 S 109,576,000
1980 P 27,610,000
1980 D 41,628,708
1980 S 20,422,000
1981 P 3,000,000
1981 D 3,250,000
1981 S 3,492,000

I have been trying to find a good deal on a set of them in Mint Cello for my coin album (it's an Ike and SBA dollar album), so I would like to find them in circulation, but that's probably not going to happen! :)

I was crunching them numbers off the top-of-my head, thanks for setting the record strait. I'm going to sell a few of my wide-rims, value went up last I've checked/sold

Left out the 1999 ones also =)
