Sleepy's Most Wanted (Roosevelt Dimes)

After having searched through $7,110 worth of dimes, I figured I'd get a Whitman Coin book (1946-1964 Dimes). I'm going to make it my goal to fill it by the end of the year! To the right is my "Most Wanted" List to help keep track of my progress. I want all of my finds to be from CRHing, so I won't be purchasing any of them. Here goes nothing! :headbang: 1)1955

$85 CWR: 1964, 1967 10 Cents 50% Ag (CAN)

Coin Counter: 1974 10 Cents (CAN)
Reject Tray: $1.29

Stopped by a smaller bank that I had previously written off for various reasons. Got the $85 in CWR from there...turned out to produce my first ever Mackerel Dime! :headbang: I was just talking with Zomotion about this a few weeks back, too. In 1967, the Royal Canadian Mint minted half their Centennial 10 cent coins as 50% Ag and the other half as 80% Ag. Gotta weigh em!

IMAG2001.jpg
Today's find weighed 2.16 grams

The 50%ers weigh 2.18 g and the 80%ers weigh 2.33 g. Looks like mine is of the 50% variety. Really cool coin! Who needs to coin roll hunt when you can coin roll fish, eh?

Two silver in the first 10 dime rolls, then nothing after that. Oh well, found some other cool coins while on the hunt today.

Sleepy: it's been awhile since I've hunted dimes ( boxes & bags ), however I can't believe how DRIED UP hunting dimes has become. Good luck, I'm sure they will pop up, slow but sure.

Today's Mercury Dime snapped the incredible 5 new Mercs in a row streak we had going. On the plus side, that's 3 Mercs in 10 days. Good to see they're coming back around.

Thanks Dozer! It's definitely not like it used to be, that's for sure.

Updates/Adjustments

1) Foreign Proof Found

Coin Counter: $0.20, 1969 2 Pfennig (GER), 1979 5 Cents (CAN), [1979, 85, 08, 09] 10 Cents (CAN), 1999 5 Euro Cent (BEL), 2004 2 Euro Cent (AUT), 2007A 2 Euro Cent (GER), 2012 5 Pence (UK), 2013 1 Baht (THA)

At the beginning of the month, I found a boatload of foreigns at my dump bank. I was logging the 2012 5 Pence into my spreadsheet when I noticed it didn't look like the others. I thought it might be a lightly circulated proof. My LCS confirmed it today. That makes ONE foreign proof for me now!

IMAG2009_1.jpg
2012 5 Pence Proof

2) Missed a Rosie!

The coin counter I use apparently rejects silver dimes. I found this out today when I got one back from my dump in the reject tray! Show a 1964 to yesterday's haul.

3) Magnetic Wheat Coin Verdict

LCS said my magnetic wheat coin I found yesterday "is toast"...so yeah. Just too rusted out. Confirmed. We'll never know the date.
