Scored a tough coin - 1939D Jefferson nick! It's a nice one too! I grade it AU - still has some luster left. I've go both of the key dates now - picked up a 50-D several months back in a roll at work. That leaves just 3 more holes in my Jeff folder to fill: 38-S, 45D, and 55P. I am pretty confident I will eventually get there now. Anybody out there ever complete a Jeff set from CRHing? I tried it about 25 years ago, but never could get the 39d or 50d.

HH folks!

nice score. I too found the 39D in this weeks nickel box. not as nice as yours but still a nice find. I have completed 2 complete jefferson sets from 38-2012 and working on a 3rd all from coin roll hunting. It can be done. I do an average of 4 boxes a week.

Two complete sets? Nice work! That's some serious nickel searching. Nicks are a lot of fun to search with all the variety you find.

This 39-d is my 3rd best find: 1) 1921S Buffalo full date Fine, 2) 1918D VG Full date (traded it for 4 silver Wash qtrs), 3) 1939D AU, 4) 1950D AU

Might have to do a 20 box Jeff nick binge one of these days to try to finish my set!

In my last 3 boxes this weekend I have found the 4 war nickels, 39d, 1903 V nickel, 1917 S buff, 1928 D buff, 1936 Buff plus a bunch of pre 50's

I have completed two sets too. My first set took less than a month and less than 50 boxes. Working on my third and need only 38S.

Great score! I have a question guys, what brand of coin books do you buy and why? What are the pros/cons of each brand? Where do you get yours for the best price? I will have to order online, so I'm guessing amazon/ebay?

By the way, I have only searched 3 boxes of nickels and in my last one I found a no date buff! I'm averaging 1.66 war nickels per box!

Right now I am just using the standard whitmans/harris folders. I will eventually upgrade to the nicer Dansco books. I
get them from www.whitman.com. and also ordered from http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com

Very nice. There is no way that thing has seen much circulation....somebody got in grandpa's coin jar to buy some candy.

I've completed 2 sets. Would have a few more complete if those elusive 50-Ds would show up more often. I only use the Dansco albums. Worth the money in my book. HH

Awesome find. I am still waiting for mine. I did find a 55P but the thing is black as night and I had to use a tooth pick.to skim through for a mint mark. I've got 10 more to go for a full folder.
