Was waiting on the teller to pass me my cash back, and overhear a guy at the coin machine asking about if the machines take his dollar coins, and I hear silver as he is messing with his coins.

Walk over and see whats happening, see a morgan dollar, some ikes, and ask him if I could see what else he was dumping, as I might buy it all right there.

He dumped out what he had on the counter, and I could see standing liberty quarters, silver halves, more morgan dollars... mixed in with the new presidential dollar coins. It looks to me to be about 50-60$ worth he was dumping.

I offered him 100$ to take it all, and he jumped on that. He took the money and ran, I would have liked to ask if he had more, but oh well...

I couldnt wait to get home and sort this out!!!

Totals:

26.50$ in silver face value, and 38.25$ in clad/dollar coins(SBA/golds)

8 Morgan dollars ranging from 1879-1921
1 1924 peace dollar
18 1964 half dollars, most look AU condition.
4 Barber quarters
3 standing liberty quarters
23 Washington silver quarters

Man oh man im still shaking!!

On another note, my 4 boxes today produced a single 40%. I was pretty dissapointed when going into the bank and dumping those 4 boxes, but coming out, I had hell of a grin on my face.

HH all!!

It's better than what I pictured in my head! I'm not going to drag my feet at the banks, I'm going to pull a Bob Wiley and take baby steps.

Nice score! I wonder if the guy inherited it somehow or maybe it was stolen(hopefully not). Either way it is yours now and congrats on a great find!

Drooling. Good silver ear and good negotiation. Doesn't matter of course but I'm curious about what the total face value of all the coins you bought was. Silver and clad. Awesome score for you info! Congrats.

Total face value on the clad was around 36 bucks.

Included Ikes, gold dollars, SBA dollars, and about 30 non silver quarters, with a bunch of bicentennials.

So he had about 60-65 dollars in face value, and got 100 bucks...

Thanks Weasel, You might be right about him... he even picked up a morgan and mentioned how some of them were real old... I just tried to keep my cool and not agree with him about that remark, and possibly open up more questions.

So I know some people CRH SBA dollar coins. I got 12 of them, 11 are 1979, and the other is 1980. Is there anything I should look for? Thinking it might have been part of the coin collection... Also about 10 gold dollars. Any tips ppl?

There's a good chance that early nickels and cents were also put thru the machine. Congrats!!
