Found this penny while roll hunting - Error coin?

it's not an error, the newer pennies are made of zinc and that is extremely corrosive and will decay in a short period of time given the right conditions.

They actually put ZINCS on the bottom of boats to attract the elements that decay metal in order to preserve the hull of the boat, the zinc gets eaten away quite quickly too.
