Hey guys! My names Ryan and I live in San Diego CA. I just started coin roll hunting about 2 months ago. So far, I have searched through 12 boxes of cents, 6 of nickels, 1 dime, and 1 half's box. My finds so far are 83 wheaties, 3 buffalo nickels, 1 war nickel, 2 silver dimes, and 37 international coins. I just have one question, when looking through boxes of halfs, I know I should keep an eye out for anything pre 1970, but is there anything else I should keep an eye out for? Thanks guys! And any other advice you guys may have would be great.

Just the year 1970 none after that. Unless you find a 1971 struck on the wrong planchet. There are also a few silver clad 1976 S bicentennial halves.

Also if you look for errors you can look for the 1972 D no FG on reverse and the 1974 D double die obverse. You can also look for proofs which would have an S mint mark.

I highly doubt that - 1970 they only minted 2.15 million of them, many on this forum have never found one. The odds of finding a few of them would be very very high.

2x 1937's and one dateless buffalo
The dimes were 47 and 64
The oldest cent was a 1926, and the best I've done for cents is 2 BU from the 50's

Sounds great! I have a good sized coin collection but I'm a sucker for buffaloes and wheaties!
Keep hunting

OP there was a fellow who hit SD hard on haves, 50-60 boxes a week. Might not find very much but if he gave it up the silver might be making its wa back.
