My first time

After reading these posts for a while, I decided to give it a try. So I went to the bank in town, and after a few weird looks I bought all the halves they had. $160.00 worth. The teller said you must be looking for a certin one, "YEP" I replied. after searching through them I found:

1-90%
6-40%
39-centenials (are these worth keeping?)

So now I was hooked and didn't want to stop, so I broke out our change jar and after searching $58.00 in Quarters, $32.50 in dimes, $7.70 in nickles, and countless pennies. I found:

11-wheats
2- 1959 nickles
1-1951 nickle and.......
1-1911 nickle (whats it worth?)

How did I do beginners luck or is this the norm. ?

no, they were the 1776-1976 halves, that would be cool though, should I keep these or "throw" them back

I would only keep the S mint I think they were all silver the rest are not worth keeping
alot of the s mint were melted down in 1982

1976-S Kennedy half.My book shows total mintage in copper-nickel clad copper of (7,059,099). They were also minted in 40% Silver with a mintage of 4,908,319(3,998,621).I don't know what the figures in parenthesis represent.Good luck with your next box Scarface.

BTW the figure in parentheses is the Proof mintage. They made 3 different 1976 S mint coins. Clad proof, 40% silver proof and 40% silver uncirculated. All worth somethin'
