With all the downbeat talk on here about searching boxes of halves, I was wondering what folks' per box averages have been lately. Feel free to post your averages if you like.

I just started about a year ago, and my average is 1.35 40% halves and 0.23 90% halves per box over that period.

Note that due to losing some dump banks more recently I often walk around near my work and pick up MWRs from tellers rather than order boxes (although I still do whole boxes a little). Some nice tellers hold a box for me and let me work through the rolls by picking up several rolls here and there rather than taking the whole box at once. So, I've included MWRs in calculating my averages rather than only counting the times when I pick up whole boxes.

Before my current skunk streak I was avg .663 40% per box and less than .10 90% per box-
I dont even want to do the math on what the 85 skunks has done to those numbers

I do bags, not boxes. They come in 1000 dollars so my numbers are double what a box hunter would have.
In the last 12 months my averages have been very good.

.75 (90%) per bag
8.25 (40%) per bag

Had a couple Very good bags that skewed my numbers, even when averaged out over the year

I don't keep track of my long term averages. I do the log thing and keep track of my total finds and each week I figure out what my average per box was for that week. This past week was my best week by far because I had an insanely good box mixed in.

With that being said I searched 10 half boxes last week and found a total of 83 silvers, so that is an average of 8.3 silvers per box. The breakdown was 33 90% (3.3 per box) and 50 40% (5 per box).

I really hope I get to have one more week like that in my hunting career.

Usually my averages range from less than one per box to a high of 3 per box. I generally search anywhere from 6-18 boxes per week.

I do dimes mostly, and my avg for this year 2013 is about 1.6 dimes per box. That is taking into consideration any skunk boxes.

Where do you find bags? Are these off counters or is it just how coin orders come in your area? I've ordered from three different banks (and different branches of each) and all the halves come in $500 boxes.

In 2011 I averaged 2.2 x 40% and 0.36 x 90% per box.
In 2012 I averaged 1.1 x 40% and 0.37 x 90% per box.
In 2013 I am averaging 1.1 x 40% and 0.19 x 90% per box.

These figures reflect actual coins out of actual boxes - no CWR's were included.

It's how my coin orders come. I've got a standing order for 2 bags a week. They just come straight from another banks coin machine

I don't have exact numbers, i quit keeping averages a couple months ago. It's been steady so I am around 2-90's and 6-40's per box.

Those are pretty high averages, you sure they are that high? Why in the world are you not doing 20 boxes a day? You could be making, on average $773.18 a day, $3865.91 a week ( 5 days ), $15463.64 a month and $201,027.32 a year!

Imagine 40 boxes a day! 60! 80!

I was curious about this as well. What kind of volume are you doing to retain such high averages?? Or is that just over a short period of time?

Yep I know my averages are that high. I went crazy for a while and was almost on a TimZim level but things started going south. It became really bad and then slacked off big time then the AG starts again. I find more now then when I was doing 4x what I was doing a week. I usually mix things up every now and then but I guess it's my trade secret.

I'm currently at 10-12 boxes a week. Any more or less and I get a lot of skunks. I've learned my area and banks and this is what works for me. I wish I could do 50-60 boxes a week with this average but I've tried and failed.

I had the exact same thing happen to me and did the same exact thing you are doing now( except for adding in the 2 bags a week) and am having better results, more boxes for me just seemed to mean more skunks. HH, Maverick.

No idea what my average is, some weeks suck others don't. I'm just happy to find what i find and enjoy the excitement of finding streaks of silver. I have a job for money, this is one of my hobbies and is just for fun with a bonus of making a little money.
