All right guys and gals. You gave me the fever.What dates do I look for and what % is what? Also what are 2002 And later kennedys?Silver %? Help.

Bob,

Halves:

1964 and older are 90% silver

1965-1969 are 40% silver

There also silver S mint halves(40% silver) and 1970 halves are 40% silver.

2002 to current year: The halves were not released to the public,they came in collector sets from the mint. The coins were taken from the sets,spent and are now in circulation.

just so no one get's confused,as I understand it 2002-present were sold by the mint in bags and rolls,just not for general circulation.

They were NOT only issued in mint and proof sets.

And another note:I have not been able to find a coin store/dealer near me or anywhere at all who will but them for more than face value either.

So for all you guys who save them from your boxes,my question is,Have you ever been able to sell them for more than face value?

I find too many of them to be able to keep them if no one will pay me more than face for them,if I kept them all I wouldn't have any $ to buy more boxes to search.
