This thread is for coins you find in, on, under, or around coin handling machines such as CoinStar, Coinmaster, auto-sorting machines in banks, payphones, and vending machines. Please add your story!)

At the supermarket again. Habitually stopped by the Coinstar machine, and stooped to pick up a dime on the floor. That's when I noticed that the reject tray was full of dimes. Visions of silver dimes filled my head! I looked around to see if someone had just walked away from the machine, but there was no sign that anyone had been using it in the last few minutes, so I scooped away.

Well, no silver, just:
20 dimes (1970-2002)
4 nickels (1984-1996)
1 Canadian dime (1982)
----------------------------
US$2.20 + CAN$0.10

The first Canadian non-penny I've seen in the wild in years. Meh, $2.20 for free... I can't complain. I hope no one else is complaining that their dimes disappeared.

EDIT: As your responses so quickly pointed out, that "10" should have been a "20". I blame the error on that bugged Canuck dime planting subliminal messages in my head.

Try inserting the word "weight" in place of "wieght."

The seller is offering an alleged but very good deal! I am very interested in learning how you make out with the transaction.

~Silverthorn (rides again... )
It is estates-by-weight. Interesting but a classic type Ebay offer. You might find a ....blah..blah..blah...

the key word is MIGHT --- as in a 1000 lb bag of money flying in a plane MIGHT somehow fall from the plane and land at your feet --- MIGHT rates right up there with Could happen * and MAYBE --- AND OF COURSE you have 0% recource against said seller --since he did not say you will find ----- he said you might find (which also means you might not find) ie no promises ---- but go get $30 worth of pennies at a bank and look thru them --you MIGHT FIND indain head cents and wheat cents --and steel cents --cost a mere 1 cent replacement cost per find -- no finds rerol and mark the rolls cash em back in cost $0 -- you can do nickles -- dimes --quarters ect its called Coin Roll Hunting --or CRH for short.

I find coins all of the time in these machines. Since we are keeping track, I will start keeping track and reporting. I am confused about this "magnet" thing. Is there a magnet readily accessable on Coinstar machines or is it inside?
And... how do you get a look in the reject bucket on the inside?

Thanks in advance
