Feb. has been one great month! Hope it spills into March. $40 in nickels was good again -

1941
1943S ;D
1951S (my 40th, woo hoo!)
1954S
1959D (2)

Finally completed my 51-S roll! Just awesome! Funny how 50% of the finds were Frisco's. Taking the day off from CRH tomorrow :o and watching the Oscars with friends. But back at it Monday!

Congratulations on the silver war nickel and the 1951S!! Enjoy the Oscars, I'm tunning in to watch as well.

What do you mean your taking a day off from crh! >:( Buddy you just lost your crh status as expert to greenhorn. :P ROFL J/K How is it that you have found 40-1951S nickels and I have never found one ??? LOL

I think I need to do some nickel searching again year,as these are the ones that have eluded me: 1938D,1938S,
1939D, 1939S, 1942P,1942S,1943D,1951S, 1955. Then my nickel series will be complete up to 1995. That reminds me I need to make a trip to the coin shop to pick up the third nickel book in this series. I'm slacking off again. :D

Ha, I knew I'd get some heat from people! As far as 51-S frequency, it really helps if you live on the west coast. One thing I've realized is the majority of S-mint coins haven't migrated much to the East. Bill O'Rourke, who writes the Found in Rolls column for Coin World, has noticed this also since relocating to Washington state. But even when I lived in Rhode Island I'd find them once in a great while. You'll get 'em Pennyworth, and it'll be sweet filling that last hole.

Congrats on the 40th 1951-S.

I am only at 9 with one in my book and 8 toward my roll.

The only ones I have fewer of are
1938-D (6, 5 were found)
1938-S (1)
1939-D (1)
1939-S (3)
1941-S (Large S) (7)
1942-P (7, 5 were found)
1943-D (4, 2 were found)
1944-D (4, 2 were found)
1944-S (4, 3 were found)
1949-S (8)
1950 (8)
1950-D (1)

Also have found enough to fill all but 1938-D, 1938-S, and 1950-D in my son's book so add 1 for everything else listed above.

Great numbers GMan. Here are my figures for rolls I've yet to complete. All these were found in slots over the last 20-odd years -

1938-D (5)
1938-S (6)
1939-D (5)
1939-S (13)
1941-S Large S (28)
1942-P (16)
1942-D (37)
1942-S (13)
1943-D (5)
1944-P (35)
1944-D (14)
1944-S (13)
1945-P (32)
1945-D (14)
1948-S (35)
1950 (22)
1950-D (3)
1955 (17)

The single digit totals include examples in my four Whitman albums but the double digit totals do not. Obviously my fourth book is still missing a 50-D.
