Got a call from my local bank and they said someone had just turned in $240 in halves and wanted to know if I was interested, yes was answer.....picke up all and as I turned away from bank, I sneaked a peek at one of the cr and there was a 40 percent ender..found several, so I turned back and asked if they had ant more turned and and they said the person turned in $500 in quarters.....I took 250.
Ended up with $85 in 40 percenters......

Here is the question. I have looked at 6 rolls of $.25 and no silver...looks like they culled the 90 percent from halves and took all quarters.....

Is edge checking the quickest and best way?

I edge check halves but also check silver tone of color to make sure. Any comments??? image.jpg

Wow great score with the halves....that's a lot of silver! Id just go ahead and check the rest of the quarters. They should be as easy to edge check as halves.

H$H!

Would you buy a lottery ticket and throw it away without checking to see if it won?

BUY THEM ALL. I've found dirty 64's in repackaged dumps. If they're dumping 40%ers - always a chance they left in a 90%er.

Soon 40% halves are going to be worth maybe a buck or so a piece. Waiting for a lot of collection dumps!

As much as I want to see silver go up I hope this happens. I am young and would like more people to dump silver into the system. I do not think silver will ever be extremely high in price It would be nice to see it hit 100$ a ounce in the near future.

If you buy them all, at least give yourself the benefit to check them all; just in case the last roll is the winner. When I buy a box of dimes, I don't stop after a few skunk rolls. Many a time a find something in the last few rolls. Example, few weeks ago only had one silver dime at roll 45, then roll 47 had a 1873 three cent piece.

If it was me and I had a lot of rolls to check.Would it not be eaiser to use a good scale and weigh the rolls and then just un roll the ones that weigh enough to have silver in them ?

It takes about 5-10 seconds to open and edge check a roll, why weigh and take the chance? What if there are 2 canadians and a silver and the weight comes out normal?

No, because there might be short rolls and foreign coins in the rolls that will skew the totals.
