"We have $100 in halves in the vault but they're kinda old, u sure u want 'em?" LOL
That was the response I got from the vault teller of a bank this morning when I called asking for half dollars. And of course I said "oh, well if they're old Im not interested....ty" lol. Well unfortunately 9 of the rolls weren't old enough and were all clad. But one of the cwr's had a different brown wrapper and was loaded with keepers.....well 7 anyway:
1 x '64
1 x '65
1 x '66
1 x '67D
2 x '68D
1 x '69
If one of the '68's had been a '70 I would have found a complete '64-'70 date set. I've still never found a '70 half CRHing yet....maybe someday. And I finally opened an new acct at a bank last week so now I have a dump bank again and today I ordered my first half dollar box in a while. And when I pick this box up I may see if I can increase my order to 2 boxes a week or try and start ordering from another bank too. I also got another nickel box today so maybe I can find a little more Christmas silver in that box.
Well its not a major score but this is my Christmas silver for this year.....hope u all r able to find some Christmas silver as well!
