Recently got 4 or 5 boxes of nickels over the past two weeks. I have yet to be skunked by nickel box. Would usually get one or two war or buffalo nickels per box. Not great but not skunked. Box yesterday I got 4 war nickels in a single box. I guess thats my best so far. I just dont find war nickels that exciting. Would rather get a buff or V .
ANYONE ELSE FIND WAR NICKELS PATHETICALLY BOARING? Also find it strange 1941 nickels have same tone as war nickels.

I find nickels boring. About halfway through a box, I remember why I rarely search nickels.

With that said, in over 20 boxes searched, I never found a V, buffalo, or key date. I also averaged way less than 1 war nickel per box.

Had my finds been better, I might have enjoyed them more. I can say the exact same for cents as well.

I got bored with war nickels and walked away from nickels for a while, but I've been hitting them hard again lately. Not as exciting as buffaloes, and I've still not yet found a V, but silver is silver.

I've searched around 40 boxes probably and i'm going to stop. Ive only found 3 buffalos and like 25 war nickels. I dont see the fun in dumping all of those nickels. Dimes and pennies are more fun because after the copper in the pennies is pulled out theres a lot less to dump.

out of my last 5 boxes ive got about 4 buffalos and 7 war. Two best boxes was the 1 with 4 war and then I had one with 2 buffs and 1 war. So im going to stick with it a while. About 6 years ago I had tried crh for a while and I did find a V, bad shape though.

My best nickel box was last Friday. 4 buffs and 2 war. My previous best was 1 buff and 2 war. Still no "V" nickel yet.

I had never been skunked either - until yesterday. I picked up my usual 4 boxes only to find all brand new 2013.

The only nickel boxes I have been skunked on were all 2013p. I usually get 2-3 keepers per box. I also find about 1 war nickel for every $50 cwr.

For me finding 35% silver war nickels is about as exciting as finding 40% silver halves....except 40% halves have more silver obviously. But then silver nickels have a much higher silver % of fv than any silver coin denomination. And I like being able to find silver nickels so consistently. And nickels are such thick coins so even a heavily worn war nickel doesn't wear down like other denominations of junk silver.

And if you're main goal is just trying to find silver, like was already said above, silver is silver.

Ive searched about 50 boxes... found around 40 wars, 25 buffs, and 2 Vs. I enjoy nickels when I can get them, especially since my half orders are now concentrated down to only thurs/fri. Sun-weds is dimes and nickels if I can get them!
