Rolls of silver

I never heard of coin roll hunting until last month. I went to a local bank seeking a few rolls of half dollars for the kids for Christmas stocking stuffers. Upon getting home, I opened them and noticed they appeared different then the normal half dollars I was used to. It was a full roll of silver. I went back to the bank for more. In all, I got 64x40 percenters and 12x90 percenters. I am now addicted to hunting.

I had a similar experience on my first try. I came back with 58 silver half dollars. I wish it happened more often. My next best outing was 35 silver halves with most of the remaining hunts being just a sprinkling of silver here and there, but I was able to accumulate over 200 silver coins last year. It was fun and a lot of work.

Good luck with your new hobby.

CRHing can often be a lot like smoking crack. With 64x40 & 12x90, you make be forever chasing that first hit.

I know. Probably will never happen again but searching rolls is the best I can do until this winter melts away. The ground has been too frozen since mid December to hunt the dirt. I ski but I have never wanted spring to come as fast I do now.

That wheat with the extra big rim is a textbook dryer coin. Pretty good explanation of them here: (Link removed by mod)

That's what I'm doing lol my first roll of halves I bought just to dip my feet into crhing. Well, the roll just so happened to have 18 65-69s and 1 64. Still chasing that hit. At least the vault manager there doesn't mind only gives me unsearched rolls
