I grabbed a few rolls of halves and found a coin that is throwing me off. If you know what I have or have an opinion please let me know.

Its a 1985. (I think not silver)
It has a white rim (I think silver)
Its sound is silver: 40% (silver)
The reverse has some decent toning.
Mint mark is P (not silver)
The last odd thing is that is that it appears to have been struck post-mint with the dates 1960 -1985 just above in God we trust.

Thanks for your opinions.

I don't think I can add photos at this time sorry.

the only silver minted after 1970, has an S mintmark. so no its not silver, probably plated or something...

re-reading the part about the double stamps, its a coin some company charged people 6 bucks for... but not worth anything over 50 cents.

someone just posted a link to that ad, in a different thread.

Plated counter stamped half. Worth 50 cents; toss it unless you like it.

80's dated halves were popular for being counter stamped.

I think there are only two post 70 dates that have accidently been struck on silver planchets, maybe 1972 and 1976? can't remember

Grab a clad half. A 40% half, and the one in question. Weigh them on a digital scale that shows tenth or hundredths of a gram. You should get your answer!
