xrunndonex's log

I've been on this forum for a bit I CRH. I've been doing it for about a month already got a vault manager looking out for me at my half dollar bank. Anyways here are my numbers so far. Also I look through basically all coins besides nickels. Mostly look for silver but pennies are fun to.

I've searched $150 in dimes $100 being from one bank and $50 from another which is going to be my dump bank (haven't found anything there). I got 2 silvers a 1951-p and a 1954-p.

Halves $130 my first roll got me all the silver I have today 17 silvers. 4-69s, 2-68s, 7-67s, 3-65s, and a 64.

nickles I have got nothing :(

Quarters also nothing but piecing together a state quarter set for the gf she requested one.

Pennies I've spend $50 on. Not a single wheatie. Those came from the bank that I decides to make my drop bank. Did get 5pounds of copper though. Looking for WAMs right now non found yet.

Totals

5pounds copper
Halves- 16 40%ers and 1 90%er
Dimes-2 silvers
Nickels- nothing good......
Quarters- nothing good besides some nice VF states

I think I'm retiring from crhing the only change counter in town is very inaccurate come to find out. I noticed with the dimes. I pulled no more then q dollar out of the dimes and it gave me $235 I said something and they said that I had no proof. It does good on halves but man.

A lot of these counters, if not all of them, sort the coins into bags by denomination as it counts. I wonder if the couriers who take the bagged coin are noticing a lot of dimes in the cent bags? With all of the miscounts reported on this site I would think it is happening like that and it would seem like there would be an over/under report to account for that and subsequent adjustments to the machines because they certainly can't roll it like that.

Next time take nothing but dimes, show them the dimes, then dump. If the count as cents tell them there's your proof.

That's the thing on the receipt it shows all dimes I threw my dimes in first printed the receipt then counted cents and some halves. Magically I got shorted $14 either by brinks (highly doubt it) or by the dcoin coin counter. I doubt I lost 140 dimes lol. First dime experience has been ruined. Maybe if I bring in a sealed box show them then dump it they'll fix it...I don't know if these machines ever need to be recalibrated.

A little bit of both actually. I buy Canadian coins as a side business and return them to Canada. It's grown over the years and I had a small job with a coin sorter that received coins from state tolls. Amazing what people throw on those baskets on the highway. Found a lot of real keepers which what launched my collecting.

LOL- when the machine heads begin to wear the dimes get dispersed into the penny chamber. No big deal because the vendor gains 9 cents per error. As the sort head wears more nickels will enter the quarter slot. Loosing 21 per error is the incentive to repair the machine.. Arggggv

Yea that toll nothing was a while ago. Now everything is speed pass etc. My small business is a registered coin exchange and I have to calibrate and certify the accuracy of my little machines. I don't know how coinstar gets away with the in accuracy.
