Bicentential half
I recently got a bicentential half that I would swear is silver....it has a matte type finish like the silver ones....no copper showing around rim...but a fair amount of wear...could it be?

Re: Bicentential half
Could be, is the mintmark from San Francisco? If so, it probably is a silver clad piece, 40% that is.

Overall the numbers "do not compute".

Re: Bicentential half
The mint is right and I'm wrong, I tapped the edge with a grinder and its copper underneath the silver....but its still a strange bicentential and I'll have to keep it...at least it only cost me 50cents

Doesn't really seem right does it? Here is another site that shows about the same thing.
