got berated today by a trained bear

Went to dump today at td bank . Half way through this grizzly bear of a women wodles her way over to me saying this machine isn't for coin collectors. Instead of getting into a argument over what the machine is or isn't used for I said I am not a collector.
She then decided to interigate me as to why I had so much coin. When I said I get paid in coin she continued her interrogation .
I said nicely I'll see you next week. Got her name and filed a complaint with corporate.
The level of discrimination directed our way on a continuous basis is ridiculous. Shouldnt matter if I'm coming in with a dollar in coin a thousand. I don't she would approuch an attractive young lady depositing a bunch of one's and ask if she was a stripper.
We deserve the same respect.

I was told once I wasnt allowed to dump half dollars in the machine(which ive used many times previously). I told the guy I knew what I was doing and they did take them. He told me to stop pouring them in and they had to count them in the back and that I would get payment a few days later... I just told him no thanks and kept dumping... he eventually walked away.

I find the less I say to rude tellers the better. It is too easy for me to lose my temper.
When they ask, why I have so many coins, or what do I do with them, I smile and say, "this and that"
If they press too hard, I ask for the branch manager or the district manager (if the branch manager is harassing me).
Remember it is none of their business what you do with your coins. Would they ask a customer cashing a check, what are you going to do with all that cash? Buying some crack today? soliciting a lady of the evening?

Ill get alot of wow thats alot of coins, how long did it take to save up? etc etc... I just say it adds up faster than you think.

Ill get regular people asking me how much the slip is for, and ill just say 20 bucks. lol

Good luck. I agree with pretty much everything you said, and I hope it doesn't backfire on you. I can all but guarantee that corporate doesn't give a rat's patootie about her, you, or what is right/wrong. They will look for the simplest, most cost-efficient way of making the problem disappear. If that is determined to be by cancelling your account, or imposing activity limiting fees, or any of many other things that will hinder your dumping into their machine, then that is what will be done.

The first time I was an easily intimidated 17 year old and truthfully told them I was going to buy a car. The last time I was in my 30's and politely replied that it was none of their business. I was sent to speak with the branch manager and she almost apologetically said she was required to ask what I was going to do with the money before she could give it to me. I asked her what happens if I refuse to answer, and she replied that I would not be allowed to withdraw my own money. ​Assuming that it would take days or even weeks to resolve the issue, which I didn't have, I gave in and told her I was going to the casino, but would probably spend most of it on booze and prostitutes (which was actually 1/3 truthful). She laughed and went and got the cash, so I assume gambling, drinking, and fraternizing with hookers are on the "accepted activity" list.

I understand how frustrating that is too, but it really helps to swallow your pride and try to turn the tables. I have had tellers that used to give me a hard time turn into great allies. It never makes sense to rat on these people either, unless she grabbed the coins out of your hand or something. I just say "yea I've been saving these over the years and have to pay my rent now." something that levels your humanity with them. Don't get me wrong I would've kept dumping the coins no matter what
