Sweet! Those have to be pretty rare. Any idea of a dollar value for something like that?

Very cool find. I never heard of these before. I'll have go check my older nickels and see if I have any.

Is it special because it is made of a different metal?

The dollar value would be $100. There aren't many on the eBay at all.

The guy, Henning, counterfeited many thousand
back in 1954. You can google the whole story.

I need to do my research on this as well. Is the unusual R lettering on reverse of '46 Henning nickels on other date Henning nickels as well?

As far as I know, the looped "R" on reverse is on 39, 46, 47, and 53. But not every Henning Nickel has a looped "R". Of course, most people know about the no "P" 44 Henning.

I think a "Hobo Nickel" would be the "holy grail" of possible finds in the nickel denomination (1913 V is not happening !)

It is undisputable that "Hobo Nickel" is a form of art. But it is not a Nickel anymore because you can not spend or deposit in the bank. Even though you have to pay $25 to order one. So I think the "holy grail" of Nickel CRH still is 1913 V.
