87 (P or D) were not released for general circulation, rather only as parts of Uncirculated and Souvenir sets, less than 3M of each were minted....and are keepers.

Are you talking quarters here? After reading this thread, was going through my pocket change and I have an '87 P...but a quarter.

I am only assuming quarters...as mentioned in first post...the 1776-1976 is the quarter and I save those.

Thanks...will hold this '87 until I hear back :)

HH, Annmarie

PS: found two in my pocket change

No, sorry Annmaire, we're talking about half dollars. We should have been more specific.

The '87 quarters are safe to spend.
