Yesterday I posted about a bank that had about 400.00 in halves but would only sell about 100.00/day. She told me to keep coming back for the next few days. I have found a lot of silver here. Well I went back today and she was out to lunch. So, I stopped by KFC and had some lunch myself and then headed to another bank and bought 20.00/nickels and 10.00/pennies. This gave me something to do while I was waiting. In the nickels I found 2 war nickels 1944 D and 1942 P and a few other old ones. In the pennies I found a 1970 S small date, and a 1953 wheatie. In the halves I found one full roll of 1967. I think one of the '67 is a proof, did they have proofs in 1967? Todays halfs:

1965-3
1966-12
1967-34

I also found a gold looking half, think it's anything good or just something somebody messed with? I'm leaning towards an alteration.

I used to work at a circuit board manufacturing facility. They had plating capability and it was pretty common for them to gold plate halves. Of course the company didn't know this was going on. ;D

Yes and no.

In 1967, as well as in '65 & '66, they released Special Mint Sets, which contained specially prepared coins that were not quite up to Proof standards.
