Last night I explored a box of half dollar coins and a box of nickels. Out of the halves, I got one 90% and three 40%ers. Out of the nickel box I found my first V nickel. Yes, it is a bit worn, but the date is readable. I also found one War nickel in the box - 1945 s.

Earlier this year I found a 1909 p penny. Has anyone found a 1909 dime? I would like to start going through dimes - I am just wondering if I will find one that old? Thanks!

Those were a couple of nice boxes - and congrats on finding your first V. I still haven't found my first V nickel or any Barber yet.

Congrats on your finds. As to finding OLD dimes, check out my post of August 24th, about finding an old 1876-cc seated liberty dime in a Brinks box.

That's what now? 3? 4 this month. If there are no objections I do hereby declare, by the powers NOT invested in me, that September is Official V-Nickel Month!

Definitely much nicer than my last V-nickel. Nice find, sir!
