Much Wampum Found. Big Pow Wow (With Pics)

On my way to work I stopped at a local bank around 4:55 pm. Just got in before they locked the doors. I asked a teller for $5 in cents. I also asked if she had any halves either loose or in rolls. The teller next to her had $500. I only bought $200 as it felt like a dump. The halves were a bust. The cents produced 7 wheats from the first 6 rolls (not bad for 6 rolls). The 7th roll had faint writing on it. "INDIAN HEAD".

This year Tanner and I have only found 1 Indian head. I peaked in the roll and saw an Indian head ender:hello2:
I poured into my hand a SOLID ROLL OF INDIAN CENTS:headbang: (oldest 1859) The roll contained 56 Indian heads.

THE BREAK DOWN

1859 = 1
1864 = 1
1865 = 1
1880 = 2
1883 = 3
1885 = 1
1886 = 2
1887 = 1
1889 = 2
1891 = 2
1892 = 3
1893 = 2
1895 = 1
1896 = 3
1897 = 1
1898 = 5
1899 = 2
1900 = 5
1901 = 4 (one had some red luster, see photo)
1902 = 5
1903 = 6
1905 = 1
1907 = 1
1908 = 1

I will be heading back to this bank in the morning. You never know if there are and nickles, dimes, quarters or more cents.

Tanner was pretty excited when I came home from work. These will fill a lot of holes in our "Found in the Wild" Indian Head Cent book.

Keep on Searching
Dad and Tanner

PS
The funny thing is before I left the bank parking lot. I checked a few roll of halves just in case. I did not even look a the cents until I was driving to work.

Wow, awesome find. Can't wait to hear what else you find when you go back this morning. Check the 1864 for the L variety.

Awesome solid roll! Never seen one here that I can remember. I hope you score even bigger on anything else you can get from them.
Congrats!

Here is the lucky part. There were 3 tellers working at the time. I could have ended up with anyone one of them. Imagine all solid rolls and good stuff we leave behind at the banks we visit. The teller I had could have picked rolls from the other end of the tray, or you end up in the wrong tellers line, the teller with the good stuff is at lunch etc..

Keep on Searching,
Dad and Tanner

This morning when they opened, I bought all the cents the teller had, $100 in dimes, $40 in nickles and $100 in quarters. I found no more injuns, or any other good stuff.

Sweet, congrats!

One of my favorite teller told me that she intercepted 40 rolls of IHCs back in the 70s and she still keeps them.
