Stopped at a couple of pawn shops in town asking for 1oz silver rounds. They said no stock, they had almost no coins out period and the ones they did have were way over priced. Stopped into the small coin shop and ended up with 5 at $20.00 each. Best price I could get here locally. He said the pawn shops are sitting on the coins and silver until the prices go back up. They paid a bit too much for them when the silver prices were higher. The coin shop guy said is isn't making much on the ones I bought but he needed some cash flow and would let them go. I don't mind him making money, that is how business works, and I can afford to sit on them for as long as needed.

My local pawn shop is also holding onto all their silver until silver goes up.

I recommend Jmbullion if your looking to buy some silver. They have free shipping and I have used them a few times on my orders. You can buy some generic silver rounds for like 18 from them.

For all practical purposes its impossible to buy small amounts without huge premiums.
