I tore open a roll of dimes tonight and knew that I had something olé...I mean, old.

My initial thought was "my first seated". On this side of the Rio Grande it would have been seated.

On the other side of the river, it's an 1888 Mexican 10 centavos. It is my first 1800s silver coin found coin roll hunting. He'll join his amigo in my collection - a 1909 10 centavos I found last year.

Nice! I've found a 1913 Canadian dime and a 1900 Spanish 50 centavos in dime rolls before, they are cool to find! Also, they both came from the same box... Awesome find!

I found a cent-sized coin from the Netherlands, with an 1880's date, but no 19th century U.S. coins.

My oldest silver dime found in a bank box was a 1876-cc Seated Liberty Dime. See my story line posting ("to all you brinks doubters"), of Aug.18,2014. Prior to that date, about two years ago, found a 3-cent piece (nickel not silver variety) in a dime box, but still a great find in a box from the bank none the less.
