Awesome start!!! I'm going to order my first box in the coming weeks, really looking forward to it. Hopefully it's similar to this one :)

Best of luck in 2015 and on that 2nd box, too!

That's what we thought. My wife usually don't help when hunting, but when she did yesterday you couldn't get enough when finding these coins. Her comments were the best. "I found a Ben! I found a Ben!"

Oldest was a 1984?

Yup oldest coin in any of the rolls was an 1984. 34 40%ers mixed in! Sorry I just realized that sounded kinda funny

Let's try this again. Do you mean "newest " coin as the 40%ers would be older.

I did mean newest. I'm making this really difficult :tongue3:

The newest coin was a 1984.

So i ordered 2 boxes of halfs from the bank and found ZERO silver?...WTF.....it was $1,000 worth and not even a 40%'er.....I was told the mint strips the silver out of circulation....is that true? SHould i just order a couple more boxes and try again?

It happens. 9 of my first 16 boxes of the year have been skunks, which I do consider a pretty cold streak. It's been discussed many times on here whether the mint pulls silver and I believe the consensus is that it just isn't cost effective for the mint or even the processing centers to do it. If they did, how would you explain the dream boxes that show up every so often?

The mint never touches the coins again once they leave the facility, so no, the mint doesn't pull silver from circulation. There are a lot of skunks in this hobby, so if 2 boxes hurt your feelings then this may not be the hobby for you. Try 40-60 skunk box streaks. That's what a lot of guys deal with.
