I believe the correct term for this is "bilateral die cracks" since the cracks don't meet in the center.

Looking at your post I wonder how many of us non coin people have noticed something like this not knowing what it was. I can remember on a couple of occasions I have handed a cashier a strange looking dime of similar appearance to pay for coffee.
