Weird 1968 half help?

Hey guys found a weird 1968 half dollar it seems proof like although it bears the D mint mark. I wouldn't say it was chrome plated by someone either.

Looks pretty normal to me. You do know that it is 40% silver right?

Yea it's as shiny as a proof is what I mean and the sides are almost black(super dark) and yes I know it's 40% silver. That's why it looks weird to me

Yep! Also, Denver has long been known to produce some very, very nice coins from time to time. When extra time is taken in preparing the Dies for use, the result is high quality and sometimes Proof-like coins.

Yes sms were from 65 to 70

This. SMS were only '65-'67 and all had no mintmark.
