Weird die toning?

Check out his weird die toning on these halves? Almost a whole roll was like this half blue/gold. Was this done by someone intentionally? Hard to see in the picture but you get the idea.

They wouldn't be die toning. The die is used to make the coin. It is just called toning.

Coins stored in paper rolls will often tone due to the break down of the paper which releases chemical vapors and aids toning. Also, coins stored in the same and left in the heat or sunlight will often tone to some spectacular colors.
