What would it take to get you to stop CRH?

Aside from monetary issues and not having the funds to purchase a box or general CRH, would it take to get you to stop?

I wonder how many skunks it would take for it to sap the fun out of finding a silver, for me. Even now when I have 5 or 6 boxes with nothing, it's still exciting to see that silver rim that breaks the streak. That said, if it was 50 boxes in between that's an entirely different story.

For those that have been at this hobby for awhile, how much longer do you think we have before those 5 and 6 box droughts, turn into 50 and 60?

Just curious to see others thoughts.

Well seeing as ive had numerous run over 50- 80+ twice, 90+ twice and 105 being my longest the only thing that stopped me was losing(being scammed) my CRH funds- it definitely SUX but seeing all the finds here gives me hope of 1 day finding a dream box

I've been hunting for over 30+ years. I've committed to retire when my mortgage is paid off. I have about 10 more years. At that time, my current house will have been paid in half dollars. Then I'll reconsider my retirement.

I'm new to it. I see current posts of "dream" and even "double dream, plus" boxes and I think there's one waiting out there for me. More importantly, I try to pay close attention to the methods of the people that consistently post extraordinary finds. Those people are still "finding" so I'm not giving up. Just finished 2 boxes and pulled one, single 69.

I committed to CRH for a year. Will reevaluate after those twelve months have passed.

I hunt mostly CWR dimes, quarters, & halves. 1-2 boxes of halves a week, sometimes none. My halves in my area hasn't been producing like it used to. A whole week without silver, I'll quit for a while. Two straight weeks

I don't think I'll ever stop. I may take a hiatus here and there from boxes, but every time I step foot in a bank I'll be asking for halves or large dollar coins. I may lower my volume, but I'll never give it up.

Dunno about stopping but I've been on a long hiatus due to a bad knee that makes carrying bags of coin to the teller cages (casino, no local banks take loose coin) a painful experience. I still did the customer-wrapped rolls and such until BofA shut down the local branch that occasionally paid off, and before that they shut down the branch in the town I was working in.

On the other hand I did buy some interesting peso coins and bills (highest denom was 2,000 pesos) last Saturday down in Mexico, just as curiosity items rather than because I was able to add silver.

I'll never quit, but as others have said, I may reduce my volume if things get any worse.

I quit for many years. I hunted a lot as a kid - from about 1987-1992 or so. Mostly small volume - several rolls at a time. Silver was low back then. Got into it again during the recent boom of high silver prices around 2011. That's when I first realized what you could find in half dollar boxes. Man, I wish I had rediscovered it when silver first started to rise, and I'd probably be in the same boat as Diver_Down: stacking enough to pay off the house!

I quit last year because of fees-fees-fees - and none of them related to roll hunting. Just the thought of banks now makes me nauseous, and after my roll hunting for over 35 years. I still enjoy reading posts, but unless silver pops back up to the $30+ range, I won't be actively hunting.
