Today while running some errands I decided to stop by the bank and get $10 in nickels. Halfway through I pulled out the 1944P. Not the prettiest but hey, you can't complain about finding silver!

Also, should I clean it up or just leave it as is?

Nice find! If you aren't going to keep it as a trophy - I would just leave it be... Thanks for sharing...

clean in or not is your choice, it won't affect its value.
A war nickel in worn/circulated condition like this one, is worth melt value and has no numismatic value.
Out of a few hundred war nickels I have found, I would say less than 10 have value beyond melt.
