Well, I'll be damned...

I've read countless posts about you lucky suckers finding scores at the CoinStar, but I never really believed that it actually happens...

It isn't much, but when I saw it just sitting in the reject tray, I almost squealed with glee. Oh, the simple things in life! Check one off the bucket list.

I found a handful of change in a coinstar the other day. First time I've found anything in one. Nothing special in mine though. There was a 2009 Canadian dime.

I am up to 3 silver dimes and a silver quarter found in my area coin stars. The key is checking them anytime you see one. I have tons on foreign coins and probably a few dollars of clad coins found too.

Got a dollar and something in change the other day in one swoop, including 1 silver-edged beauty 10 center.

yeah more and more people are checking the reject slots now. I mostly check our change holders we have at each lane. Coins don't go through the Self check outs and we swap them out for regular tender. I have found quite a bit of coins that way. you could always stay near one and if some teen throws change in, offer to swap out the rejected coins for real tender. <Hint hint> some kids and teens fall for it big time. I get mostly canadian but I have gotten a few silver candians too.

Never thought about checking the coinstar machine at our local store... will have to remember that or have my kid check. reminds me of checking the phone booths for coins

I check em every time I'm near one - find a lot of foreign , rarely I have found a silver dime - I did find 3 1929 wheaties one day
that really had me puzzled - made me wonder what got dumped in and not rejected Standing Liberty Quarters ? Mercury dimes?
