Today I bought a box of cents and a few rolls of nickels to hunt. Not a bad day! I pulled a very nice 1938 Jefferson and 21 Wheaties...the oldest being a 1919-S and a 1920-D on up to a 1958-D...one of which almost looks like it was pulled out of a collection because it looks very new with full luster.

I also pulled what I think is a blank planchet? It's pretty much the same diameter of a regular cent and about the same thickness with not even a hint of any coin detail to be seen. It's obviously copper. What do you all think?

Looks blank, like a planchet alright. Appears to have a rim.
You have an oddity, and should be looked at by coin pros of some sort,
for validity and value.

It does look like a blank.
I had one that weighed in as being clearly zinc. The LCS offered $0.15 for it - no deal. The novelty of it was/is worth more than a $0.14 profit.

Couldn't tell you...I cracked open a couple rolls and when I was going through them, this one stood out like a sore thumb in the pile. My guess is that someone spent a collector coin.

I say BLANK. Put it on a scale to see if it's the same gram weight.
