Sorry for the play on words in the title... Just can't help myself...

In the last 2 month I've hit 4 solid cwr of 40%ers, 2 solid rolls of bu 90% Kennedy halves... And today... 4 solid rolls of 90% Washington quarters :occasion14:

Not to mention my teller tray find a few weeks back of 20 silver Washingtons and 30 silver Rosie's. It's just been a really fun last couple of months.

I was dumping a bag full of dimes in the coin machine, got my ticket and proceeded to the teller line. I cashed out when the teller next to me said don't go anywhere until you see me. She finished up with her customer and I stepped up. She said a lady came in and cashed about 15 rolls of quarters and one broke open. Solid silver. She said she only looked at a few of them, and wanted to keep two of them for herself. She knew at least 2 more were solid. I bought the rest and couldn't wait to crack them open

I ended up with 4 solid rolls of silver Washingtons. Mostly 1964 (x94). But I was able to pull a few 40's and 50's dates. Filled 17 holes in my album!!!

Silver porn below :headbang:

Oh and yes... Treats for her and her co-workers next week. I can't stress enough about being nice, treating tellers with respect and bringing them treats from time to time. I was definitely lucky that lady didn't know what she was cashing in, but I didn't find these because I was lucky... I was given the opportunity to buy them because I built a good relationship with a teller. Take the time to do so, it can pay off

Friggin amazing! What do you do with your finds? Just stack or are you selling/puting them toward something else?

Keep on stacking & congrats on a great haul. Somehow it's so much better to find quarters in the wild than anything else.

Great score!

I agree with the bit about taking caring of tellers, but sometimes there is not much you can do. The bank near my office where I order my boxes of halves has a new vault teller. She is really nice and keeps the vault stocked with boxes of halves just for me. On the other hand, on Friday while one of the tellers was selling me some clad Ikes she had the vault teller said she checks all the old or interesting coins that come in for silver, so it looks like I won't be scoring anything from tellers here. To top it off, the last few boxes of halves have been skunks and are different from before (still long flat boxes, but no holes) and the rolls inside are different (used to be yellow and white String rolls, now are olive green and white). I know the packaging should not matter, but before I was rarely skunked at this bank and now am skunked all the time. I find NIFCs, but no silver and no clad proofs. Some marked coins too. Just really skunky.

Glad someone is finding silver!

I understand. Not all tellers will keep the good stuff for you, or give you a piece of the action. Two weeks ago I went into a branch a friendly teller moved to. I spoke with her for a bit and she introduced me to her friend.... The sniping teller :BangHead: just the day before the teller said she found 3 solid rolls of dimes and continued to show me the silver quarter she just pulled from a roll...

But with all that said tellers don't last forever. Most tend to move on and continuing to build relationships will pay off in the long run.

The boxes will turn around, Christmas is coming :laughing7:
