Haven't been hunting much since about mid-November. And what boxes I have been picking up, both dimes and halves, have been skunks.

Stopped at a bank near my work today to make a deposit, spied some silver and three Ike dollars in the teller's tray and asked her if I could buy all the halves and large dollar coins she had.

She only had what I saw in her tray, $12 total. Three Ikes and $9 in halves.

Out of the $9 in halves, $7 worth were 40%ers:

1966
1967 x 6
1968D x 7

Lots more skunks, ugh. But, I managed to pick up a box of halves yesterday on my lunch break that had some silver!

The box had one reverse ender and gave up a total of eight keepers, one 90%er and seven 40%ers:

1964
1966
1967 x 3
1968D
1969D x 2

Managed to pick up two boxes of halves yesterday before all of the banks closed for NYE.

Got around to searching one of the boxes yesterday, which gave up three 40%ers:

1967 x 3

Glad I was able to grab some more silver before the year closed out, will be posting year-end total and some highlights soon.

Alrighty, here goes my year-end post...

Took a few more weeks off from hunting in 2016 than in the past.

Also, there was that hiccup with dumping caused by TD Bank and PNC Bank getting rid of their coin machines due to the lawsuit brought on them for miscounting. Because of that, I was no longer able to drop off bags of coin daily, which caused me to have to cut my volume practically in half. I stopped doing dimes altogether around this time because they were too much of a pain in the butt to re-roll.

Despite all of that, 2016 has been a pretty good year in terms of silver. Didn't quite get as much as I did in 2015, but came damn near close to it! My goal, as it is every year, is to get at least 100 ozt. in silver...

Total silver found in 2016: 126.92 ozt.

There weren't as many highlights this year, but definitely had some good finds and good boxes:

Good luck and happy hunting in 2017, everyone!

You at least reached over your goal. Wish I could shoot that high & reach it. Congrats on 2016, & may '17 be bigger & better.
