1969s s over s mint mark

Found a 1969s s over s mint mark coin roll hunting. Dose anyone know if this is a common error or is this coin worth something? Thanx.

I am just guessing here but I assume we are talking about a PENNY since thats the only denomination with an S/S on the obverse documented for 1969. An MS-63 is worth $75000 according to the Red Book. Would love to see a pic...

PCGS list one for Nickel and one for Quarter.

Found online for $7.50 @ MS-63.

1969-S/S 1c RPM#1 S/S West MS63RD w/specks $7.50, MS63RD $8.50, MS64RD $12.50

1969-S/S 1c RPM#2 S/S West. Nice and very scarce to rare! MS63RD $17.50, MS64 $19.95, MS65RD $25.00

1969-S/S 1c RPM#3-c S/S West. Listed by Wiles as a URS-2 (2 known) but we have several. This is the stage with a multitude of fine die-lines on the obv/rev. MS63RD $17.50, MS64RD $22.50

Your research was for DDO. The listings I referenced are for Re-Punched Mintmark (RPM) - which is most likely what OP has. (Both are varieties.)

The 1969S DDO is a very well known coin with a lot of faux finds.

The 1969 S doubled die has all lettering & date doubled on the obverse - it's an extremely rare error coin. The doubled S is a lesser known, less valuable variety with a second S punched over the first. The '69 S dbl die actually isn't doubled on the S. The S mintmark was added after the die was made.

Dirt fisher has not yet been back to tell or show us just what he has. Until then, I have to assume that he has one of many 1969s cents that has a repunched mint mark. There are several obverse dies of that year with the mint mark repunched. Normally, with average circulation, these coins will bring a few dollars each.

MD isn't a winner. They're actually quite common for that year.
