I found one once as well. I believe Its a magicians coin. Unless someone could shed more light on this?

It's a magician coin. That isn't possible in the minting process.

If it is a magicians coin, should it be able to come apart? It seems like it is stuck together pretty well.

Somebody probably made it as a gag gift. It's probably super glued together so you would not be able to pull it apart. No way it's an error. One side is a 1967 and the other is 1989. No way that could happen at the mint. Somebody had some extra time on their hand and made this. Probably some con artists who street hustled a mean game of heads or tails ;)

High as a kite at a rock concert when I was 16. :P

found 3 in rolls. gave 1 to a teller. just listed 1 on ebay for $2. sold a 40% 2 head half for $20 on ebay. there is a buyer for everything, excluding Hillary's lies:--))

Guess I should have explained further. It's a"novelty" coin. Not a magician's coin. It's not supposed to come apart.

Basically a Magicians coin that's been superglued together. The quarters, dimes, and nickels I gave like those don't come apart, while the halves usually do. Haven't found a cent or dollar coin like that yet.

It would have been more believe able if both dates & mint mark were the same on both sides, and if the cut line didn't show so much, it might pass as a good error ???
