Can't be positive, but my best guess would be it's a copy.

No its real my coin guy looked at it. They are hard to find. I looked in my 36 lbs of odd coins and found ? 30 silver coins. Some very old ones. Most were found in the coin counters at td bank. Thats when I was doing 40 to 90 boxes a week. I have about $230 dollars of coins from Canada. When I do trash jobs I do get some old coins and silver. I found $800 in a old pocketbook once. One time I found $750 of gold. Its all good!!!

Hey TimZim,

I was able to exchange rolled Canadian coins at Chase Bank for an even exchange. I only had about $40 in dimes and quarters but they exchanged it. I was able to get $40 US back.

Good Luck,

Let us know if they still do, if you give it a try.

Keep on Searching,
Dad and Tanner

I would still send it in to be graded and slabbed. Is your coin guy an expert on colonial coins? Honestly, not trying to rain on your parade, but only one way to be sure. I would want that coin slabbed anyway.

Hearing about it is fine and all, but I agree - without seeing a pic it is difficult to get very excited.

Concur. I didn't doubt for a minute that he found one, but it didn't really do anything for me. Seeing the pic however, got my blood pumping!
