Well its been a while since I have posted and hunted. Today I ventured out to one of my banks that produces from time to time. I asked for halves and the teller had $60.00 in CWR. To my surprise, I had 6 solid rolls. One of the rolls had a 1945 D mercury dime hidden in it. Heres the pics. The total from the day resulted in 51 90% halves and 91 40% halves and 1 mecury dime. 20160707_144710_HDR.jpg 20160707_145656.jpg 20160707_145704.jpg

at the very least --I would ask if any other coins were also turned in at the time -- crw dimes or quarters might be silver as well --and their could be buff dimes or silver WW2 era nickel --or indian head cents as well

Congratz! I can only imagine how awesome that must be.

On a side note, I pulled a dime from a quarter roll yesterday. However, neither the dime nor any of the quarters were silver! :tongue3:

 Congrats on a great score. Were the 90%s all 1964s? What were the years of the 40%s? In 1965 some of the halves were made using 90% blanks instead of 40% blanks & are error coins. They weigh 12.5 grams instead of 11.5 grams. In 1966 some halves are missing the designers initials on the reverse which also makes them a error coin. Also 1970 is considered a key date for the 40% half dollars as they were minted in limited numbers. What state are you in? Finally I'm a little confused as you said you got 6 rolls. That would be normally 120 halves but your totals add up to 142 halves. Did you do additional crh that day & picked up some others? Again congrats, it's days like this that makes this fun.
