I opened an account today with a bank just because they have a coin machine and no monthly fees. My intentions were to dump coin there when done. While opening the account(with coins) I asked the teller if she had any $2 bills and halves. I got a nice amount of halves and bills. The fun started immediately when I noticed the newest coin was a 2000D. Could these have been sitting for 15-16 years in the vault?

We still have have 91 rolls to open but so far after on 51 rolls, we have 64 x3, 65 x1, 67 x3, 68 x3, 69 x1, and a lucky 52D. So we found 8-40%and 2-90%.

Way to go on your score. I am proof this can happen. Btw, I found two star notes in my bills and is a 1976. Also there is a 1976 with a postmark but hard to make out if its first day issue or not.

Congratulations again!

:occasion14: Nice score! It's not everyday a bank is willing to sell a bag of half dollars especially around here especially a bag that is half full. Did the Bens have any mint mark on the back? Also don't forget to weigh the 65s & check the back of the 66 for missing designer initials. BTY I sent you a email last week but you haven't replied to it.

I have tried to buy bags. I just get that scornful why-don't-you-go-begging-somewhere-else look.

I've never tried that but I know the bank here has silver and probably other types of old coins too because I've gotten old coins from the bank when I cashed checks there.
