Went through $200 CWR dimes yesterday and that yielded one 1962 dime.

Stopped at Safeway to grab a lotto ticket, and next to the lotto machine in the coinstar, noticed a handful of coins in the reject slot.

Ended up with 1 1962D quarter, a canadian quarter, a 1976 cent with no reverse (looks like PMD) and $5.02 in spendable money. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469995175.531033.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469995213.568243.jpg

How did you come out on the lottery ticket since your luck started with the CoinStar machine? Nice way to find silver.

Nice saves! All I've ever found in coinstar machines are a couple crusty zincolns and a plastic button.

Just went today to get rid of some crusty zincolns( thanks rreahard)like a 5gallon bucket half full worth........ didn't find any coins when I walked up. Half way through a guy walked up to use the machine, I cashed out and let him go(i was gonna be there awhile). I asked him if he had any pre '70 quarters or dimes. He said he wasn't sure. So we looked right quick. Found a '65. Reached into my pocked gave him a clad quarter and a nickel. He was happy. Cashed out with $32.00 bucks, plus a 1/8 bucket worth of rejects.

Hate to break the news to you. A 1965 quarter is just clad with no silver in it. You want quarters and dimes that are 1964 or older. They are 90% silver. Its only half dollars that are 40% silver from 1965-1970. Before 1965 they are 90%. At least you only lost a nickel in the deal.

Good score on the Coinstar. Since Walmart moved all the Coinstars to the customer service area it has become a little awkward to check them when there is a line of people next to them.

Terrific find, Nothisispatrick. I'm about 0 for the last 5 months on searching coinstars(for silver coins:BangHead:) and I search them pretty frequently. I've yet to find a silver quarter in a Coinstar. :dontknow:

Ive noticed a lot more people people leaving change in there, so it might be better even to use the money you find in the coinstars to invest in silver!

Found this in the reject tray. Idk if it's silver, but it looks like a very beat down 1944 nickel! Fingers crossed! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1470551081.487943.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1470551125.673410.jpg
