CONGRATS TO THE WINNER: mrs. Oroblanco with a guess of $117.35. It was reply #13 on: Jul 04, 2007, 05:16:25 PM.

****NOTE ABOUT THE CONTEST -- PLEASE READ**** Had any of you used your cyber detective skills, you could have found the answer to this. In my first ever post on this forum, Newbie Alert, First Box, http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,87933.0.html

I made a reference to where I found this forum with a link. If you searched that forum, you would have found this post, Found: 1 Mason Jar of Change = $118.70

I kind of thought one of the cyber-sleuths here would have done their home work. Oh well, it looks like good old luck prevailed. Thanks to all who guessed. I hope you had as much fun with it as I did.

Now it’s time for someone else to step up, find something lying around and have ANOTHER CONTEST.

Let’s Have A Contest – Free Coin Giveaway To The Winner

I thought it might be cool to have a contest. I have a 1 quart Mason jar I fill with nickels, dimes and quarters that I find detecting. NO PENNIES. When it was full, I rolled it all up. I took a picture of it with most of the rolls. Some of the coins were still in the jar. I saved the picture and named it with the amount in the jar.

Here is the jar with some of the coins still in it and a peek at the rolls.

Remember, your guess is for when the jar WAS STILL FULL TO THE TOP.

Here are the rules:
1. The contest will start July 4th.
2. The contest will end July 11th at 5pm California time.
3. Guess how much was in the Mason Jar and please put the amount on the SUBJECT LINE. (although answers in the comments box are OK).
4. Only answers in dollars and cents will count, IE, $XXX.XX.
5. No family members will be allowed as a winner (sorry RB).
6. Whoever is closest WITHOUT GOING OVER will win. If all guesses are over then whoever is closest going back to the amount will win.
7. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the first tied guess posted.
8. ONE GUESS PER PESON.
9. You may edit your guess but your AUDITED TIME AND DATE will count toward a tie.
10. I think that covers it, if anyone thinks I missed a rule, let me know.

Here is the PRIZE FOR WINNING.

My brother in Florida gave me 2 of these “Chinese coins” he bought at a swap meet. He paid a buck apiece. Supposedly they were silver. After some research, I am lead to believe they are fakes or fantasy coins. Maybe I am wrong. Anyhow, I am giving ONE to the winner.
It is just slightly larger than a silver dollar.
I will pay for shipping.
Heck of a deal.
Good Luck.

Only nickels, dimes and quarters? No pennies? Than that's my guess.
