Advice on a nice magnifying glass for coins

I am looking to buy a magnifying glass for my coin hobby.....any suggestions?

Any magnifier you are comfortable with is the right one for you. I use the same 30x loupe I use when prospecting.

The process is use is simple. With good lighting I examine each coin. Should I notice something unusual, or something on my list, I then get out the loupe and give it a closer look.

Others use a simple 3x handheld magnifying glass.

Which extreme is best? Something in between? That is up to you.

Time for more coffee.

I tried other handheld magnifying glasses but this worked best for my needs. I also have an old Mitutoyo 8x loupe from when my Dad had a machine shop. I normally glass the coins first with the largest (weakest) glass, then will do a quick check using the 8x loupe. Then if needed, I'll grab the microscope.

I worked out a system where I can check 50 cents at once, flip them over all at once, then check the other sides. It also keeps them oriented correctly so that I will notice if there is anything that doesn't line up properly.

I got a very cheap one where my wife buys her quilting supplies. It has a light that I can use if need be and is strong enough for my limited eyesight. You can get it ay a Joanne's or any other sewing store...cheap.
